ARMED FORCES EMERGENCY SERVICES
The American Red Cross provides reporting and communication services through a network that links members of the military any place in the world with their loved ones:
Calls and messages are relayed every 22 seconds between Armed Forces Emergency Services centers, stations, and chapters.
AFES also provides emergency financial aid to service members, their families, retired military personnel and widows of retired military personnel, in partnership with the military aid societies.
Members of the military and their families may access services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through our local chapter. AFES stations on military posts, or by calling an AFES Service Center in Fort Sill, OK or National Headquarters in Washington, DC.
You can call the North Cascades Chapter at 509-422-3440 if you require assistance regarding a member of the military. When calling the Red Cross to send an emergency message to a family member, it is helpful to have the following information available regarding the service member:
- Full Name
- Rank/Rating
- Branch of Service
- Social Security Number
- Military Address
- Information about the deployed unit and the home base unit (for deployed service members only)
